RADU BOIANGIU DERMATOLOGICAL CLINIC
Year: 2025
Location: Bucharest
Type: Reconversion
The project emerged from the new owner’s need to transform the building’s function, converting it from collective housing into a medical clinic. The main challenge lay in balancing the client’s aesthetic and budgetary requirements with the various external regulations and constraints.
Located in a relatively quiet neighborhood of the capital, the building integrates harmoniously into its surroundings while maintaining a subtle yet elegant presence.
The former two apartments and the duplex were completely reimagined to host eight modern medical offices, a fully equipped surgery room, an administrative office, and all the supporting facilities required for the smooth operation of the clinic.
The architectural intervention focused on creating a clear and efficient functional organization, ensuring intuitive circulation for patients, medical staff, and service areas while complying with the specific standards applicable to healthcare facilities. Particular attention was given to the quality of the interior environment, where natural light, carefully selected materials, and a balanced color palette contribute to a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere.
Beyond meeting technical and operational requirements, the project aims to redefine the medical experience by creating spaces that promote comfort, trust, and well-being. The transformation demonstrates how an existing residential structure can be successfully adapted to contemporary healthcare needs, extending the building’s life cycle while preserving its relationship with the urban context.
